COMMONLY ASKED YONI STEAMING QUESTIONS

Why V-Steam?

To maintain wellness, improve blood circulation, increase intimacy, help endometriosis & fibroids, infertility, bladder & yeast infections, menstrual cramps, hemorrhoids, relieve stress & depression, detoxify the womb, remove toxins, and relieve vaginal infections.

Why should this not be used while on my period?

The herbs in our product promote blood flow in the uterus. Using this on your cycle could cause even more blood to flow.

Why should this not be used while pregnant?

Although very helpful to aid in healthy conception and excellent after giving birth, steaming is contraindicated while pregnant. Steaming while pregnant can be dangerous because the steam relaxes and opens the cervix, which could result in miscarriage or early labor.

Will my doctor recommend doing a yoni steam?

Probably not, most medically trained doctors are not trained in herbal holistic practices such as yoni steaming. Since it is foreign to them, it may not be something they recommend.

Does your vagina have to be shaved?

No because when sitting over the steam it is recommended widening your legs a bit and sitting upright so the steam can travel into the right places. Hair will not interrupt this.

Can I steam after getting a wax?

It is recommended to wait at least 4 days after getting a wax to yoni steam.

What do I do with the water after steaming?

When finished, you can discard the water and herbs either down the toilet, in the garden or add them to your compost.

Should I shower before or after yoni steaming?

I recommend showering AFTER you yoni steam.

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT YONI VAGINAL SUPPOSITORIES

What are the pills filled with?

Yoni Vaginal Suppositories are gelatin capsules filled with boric acid. Boric acid is found in seawater and most commonly originate in dried salt lake beds. It has mild antiseptic and antifungal actions. Vaginal boric acid contains probiotics AKA  "friendly bacteria" and works by preventing Candida fungi from growing. It is also a homeopathic prescription medicine that also contains probiotics or "friendly bacteria", as well as the antioxidants Vitamin C and E.

When should Yoni Vaginal Suppositories be used?

These suppositories can be used when you feel a little “off” as our pH may shift before/after our period, unprotected sex or high sugar and meat consumption. Many women are also prescribed suppositories by gynecologist to help women prevent disrupted pH balances after sexual activity.

This product helps: Eliminate odors, Fight bacterial vaginosis & yeast infections, Burning, Itching, Unbalanced discharge, Dryness & more.

What should I expect?

Since everyone's yoni is different, some women are more moist than others. Those who are more moist will experience faster dissolving suppositories.

For women who are dryer than others, make sure you are drinking lots of water. Some women find it helpful to dip the suppository in coconut oil before inserting. This will increase and speed up the dissolving period.

Your body will naturally take what it needs and discard anything extra. Some women experience the capsule discarded in their vaginal canal which is completely normal. Since this will be visible feel free to pull out the excess (you do not have to dig). As stated, this is completely normal. Even if not completely dissolved, the powder (boric acid) is still doing its job.

If you experience abdominal or pelvic pain, unusual vaginal bleeding, blood in urine, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, or breathing difficulty while using, seek advice from your doctor immediately. These side effects have not been reported with the use of boric acid vaginal suppositories and could be related to a more serious existing condition.

What are the side effects?

A milky-colored, watery discharge upon waking up in the morning after using a suppository is normal. Many women find that using a panty liner is helpful. The discharge is a combination of the boric acid mixed with vaginal secretions. If the woman is not moist naturally, you might notice a tiny bit of clumping of the capsule in the vaginal canal, this is completely normal. You may pull out the excess if you chose while washing with warm water. Less than 10% of women experience any adverse side effects while using boric acid vaginal suppositories. The main side effect is a mild burning sensation. This can be considered normal since boric acid is more acidic than the normal vaginal secretions.

DOs and DONTs

  • Do not take a vaginal suppository by mouth. Vaginal boric acid is for use only in the vagina.

  • Do not use this medicine if you have open sores, wounds, or ulcerations in your vaginal area.

  • Do not use while on period cycle or during pregnancy.

  • The usual dosage of vaginal boric acid is 1 suppository inserted into the vagina once per day, for 3 to 6 days in a row. It is also suggested for women that experience pH imbalances after sexual intercourse.

  • If taking to treat a yeast infection, and you accidentally miss a dose take ONE suppository as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

  • Wash your hands before and after inserting a vaginal suppository.

  • You can use a panty liner to prevent the medicine from going through your clothing.

  • Store at cool room temperature away from moisture, heat, and direct light. The vaginal suppositories will melt if they get too warm.

  • Wait at least 20-24 hours after inserting a suppository before engaging in sexual intercourse.
